FAQ

What services are available?

My main genres are nonfiction and contemporary prose poetry in US English and UK English.

My passion and my work revolve around language (hence the name of the website). I primarily work at the language level (line editing and copyediting), not the structural level (developmental editing).

I also offer light content (substantive) editing for short manuscripts or other written material (13,000 words or fewer).

For longer manuscripts in certain genres or niches, I recommend developmental editing or at least a manuscript evaluation. This is normally done before line editing and copyediting.

Fiction, academic editing, kidlit (children’s literature), young adult (YA) literature, heavy substantive editing (for longer manuscripts or content), developmental editing, ghostwriting, formatting, typesetting, book cover design, and book marketing are outside of my wheelhouse, but I’ll be more than happy to refer you to my colleagues who specialize in those areas.

What topics are off-limits?

I’m open minded, and I love to explore and learn about different topics and niches. That’s why I became an editor in the first place!

However, there are some topics that I absolutely won’t touch. As a matter of principle, I do not work on materials supporting the belief in so-called authority (a.k.a. government or any political system) and “woke,” “conscious,”  or politically correct (PC) language and culture. We are spiritual beings having a physical experience, gifted with freedom and liberty under natural law, otherwise known as universal law, the law of creation, or God’s law. From the spiritual perspective, labels—race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, political affiliation, religion, health status, socieoconomic status, and so on—are a form of ego identification. They’re merely fleeting moments in our physical existence. They do not define us. We are not our experience. We are not the ego. We are one. We all came from the same source. There is only one race—the human race. Separation is an illusion. Don’t let the dark powers that shouldn’t be continue to divide and conquer humanity.

This is where I part ways with 99 percent of professionals in my industry, but if you wish to cover those topics, I can refer you to my qualified colleagues. This is by no means an endorsement or support, but I love to help authors find the best professionals for their projects.

Are you a literary agent?

No, I’m most certainly not. I’m an agent in a general sense of the word—a tour guide, a travel agent, or a representative. I take you on an exploration of word use in business, cyberspace, arts, culture, etc.—almost everything under the sun. I also help you connect with your clients, customers, or readers through the written word. Last but definitely not least, I help people become agents of change on this planet through the written word.
